The Seedbomb Project
Location
Harlem NYC
Children's Art Carnival 80th anniversary of the USA/ Japan Atomic Bombs Exhibit
Role
Project Manager
With roots to early NYC reafforestation efforts in the 70's by The Green Guerillas to combat Redlining's lingering effects to serving as an ancient Japanese farming technique, Seedbombs have empowered populations to take-on planting in a creative way. By mixing clay and compost into balls encapsulating native seeds allow us to re-seed and regenerate degraded lands without tilling, machines, or chemicals. The clay protects the seeds from birds and other elements, releasing them to germinate when conditions are right.
The Seedbomb Project is an Upper-Manhattan socio-environmental initiative aiming to educate the public about the lack of uptown canopy cover and on a hands-on, practical solution that empowers anyone to tackle this summer nightmare and air quality degrading issue. Bridging bicultural solutions have positioned the Seedbomb Project in the 80th year anniversary of the Japanesse/Usa Atomic Bomb art exhibition by The Children's Art Carnival in August 2025 and has trained Harlem youth to disperse thousands of these around Uptown Manhattan to date.
